Pankaj Advani adds another feather to his cap, wins Asian Billiards for 7th time

FB_IMG_1492180904691Sixteen-times world champion, Pankaj Advani won his 7th Asian title by defeating compatriot Sourav Kothari 6-3 in the finals of the Asian Billiards Championship 2017 in Chandigarh.

While Pankaj Advani and Sourav Kothari won gold and silver respectively, it was a clean sweep of medals by Indians  as bronze medals were won by Rupesh Shah and Bhaskar Balachandra

In Women’s Billiards Championship, Vidya Pillai and Amee Kamani claimed bronze medals.

After the win, Advani said, “ I’m on seventh heaven since it’s my seventh Asian championship. This is a comeback title for me. I’ve come back to win this after five years and in the final I came back from 1-3 to win the next five frames on the trot to clinch the title.”

Advani now returns home to Bangalore for four days to switch to snooker before taking off for Doha to compete in the Asian Snooker Championship which begins on the April 22.
